Pin Chin Sky Loop: 18 Mile Endurance Hike

Cheaha Wilderness

Nov 5

7am

Trail Leader: Jonathan Kelly

Take on the infamous Pin-Chin-Sky Loop! Best known as a challenging backpacking route, this rugged loop includes some of the Talladega Mountains’ most memorable destinations: steep climbs into the Cheaha Wilderness, Cheaha Falls, the Chinnabee Silent Trail, Stairway to Heaven, the Skyway Trail, and—of course—plenty of the Pinhoti Trail.

This time, we’re trading the overnight gear for an ambitious goal: completing the entire loop in a single day!

This is an extremely strenuous, fast-paced hike intended only for experienced, well-conditioned hikers. Participants must be fully prepared to complete approximately 18 difficult miles with substantial elevation changes and limited stops. Because sunset will occur before 5:00 p.m. following the time change, we must begin early and maintain a steady pace throughout the day.

Space is limited, and participants should carefully consider the distance, terrain, pace, and time constraints before registering. It will be a demanding day—but also a beautiful and unforgettable adventure!

Please bring:

• Lunch & Snacks

• Weather-Appropriate clothing and hiking gear

• WATER in a water bottle or your usual carrying container

• Toiletries Ziploc bag

• A small backpack for carrying these things!

• Sense of Adventure

Our programs and outreach hikes are (mostly) free of charge yet we gladly accept donations to help support the consistent and continued education programs year after year. You can use the express donation feature at the top of this page.
