If you were at Friday night, you saw the Yellow Jackets' season end. Oxford fell to Muscle Shoals 31-14 in the first round of the Class 5A state playoffs, undone by critical penalties and costly turnovers. Head coach Sam Adams called the loss “frustrating for certain.” Kickoff was set for 7 p.m.

Alexandria did move on. The Valley Cubs beat Hamilton 47-35 in Class 4A and reached the second round for the third consecutive season. Quarterback Cole Wheeler said the plan was to “trust our guys, trust our coaches, and run behind our big O-line.” WBRC's Sideline crew had Hamilton at Alexandria on its Week 11 list.

  • Alexandria: at least 47 points for the third straight game
  • Hamilton: held to its second-lowest scoring total of the season
